Firefighters in Russia Rescue Pigs from a Barn Caught on Fire

[ADORABLE]

In Russia’s Tomsk region approximately 150 adult pigs and piglets were rescued from a burning barn. Firefighters responded to the call of the barn roof caught on fire and worked to extinguish the flame. The other crew members worked to save the pigs stuck helplessly inside. Some firefighters came out of the smoke-filled barn with an armful of piglets covered in soot, others were coaxing larger pigs out of the barn and into a safer spot. The video also shows firefighters passing a pig down a line of crew members.

During the rescue many of the pigs were squealing from all the commotion, but after the rescue, some of the pigs were seen playing happily in the cold winter snow. Without the fast response and commitment from the firefighters, the pigs would have been left to suffer in the flames. The rescued pigs have been housed in a local farm until their breeders can build them a new home in the Chernaya Rechka village.
