Green Living Apps to Consider

Green Living Apps to Consider

For over a decade now, people have had the urge to live a cleaner, greener life. This means choosing more natural and eco-friendly options in every aspect of their life. Technology has also been a big part of life so it's no surprise that the two have come together to create some amazing and helpful green living apps. Anyone with a smart phone will be able to find apps that help you live a greener and more natural life.

Farmer's Market Finder ' When living a greener life, you will want to buy fresh foods and produce, which can be done at any farmer's market. However sometimes you are in a place where you don't know of the local farmer's markets and this app will help you do that. Aside from finding local farmer's markets, it will also help you find CSAs, orchards and gardens for community planting and parking information.

Good Guide ' Since there are so many different green products on the market, it can be hard to find the right ones. Good Guide is an app that helps you decide which green products are good to purchase and which you should pass on. It includes a barcode function where you scan the item in question, or search with the keyboard, and you can compare the item to other products like it.

Go Green ' Learn how to go green with a big list and reference app called 'Go Green.' This app is great for anyone new to being green and environmentally friendly and lets you learn everything from energy conservation to recycling.

iRecycle ' Since much of green living is about consumption and recycling, the iRecycle app can be very useful to anyone wanting to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. iRecycle helps you learn more about recycling and look up ways to recycle different items like electronics, paper, plastic and hazardous materials. It will also help you find local recycling centers.

LiveNeutral ' Learn how big your carbon footprint with the LiveNeutral app. It actually lets you calculate your current carbon footprint and shows you how it affects the environment and ways to reduce your carbon footprint. The app is free to use and by purchasing credits for different areas of the app, you're donating money to greenhouse projects.

EcoCharge ' Lastly, there is the EcoCharge app which will alert you and stop charging your phone as soon as it is fully charged. Many people leave their phone plugged in to the charger at all times, giving them a full charge. This means even after your phone is fully charged, it is using electricity. To be greener, use the EcoCharge app and remove your phone from the charger when it's fully charged.

Green living apps are available for both Android and iPhone. If you are interested in other green living apps or you want to find out about new green living apps appearing in the coming weeks, check out the Google Play Store or iTunes.
