A Vegetable based diet is one of the most nutritious diets on the planet!  If you choose your food right, you can totally avoid poisoning your body with GMO plagued food, questionable ingredients and preservatives.

At the same time you protect your body,  you can also reap the benefits of a diet that is rich in essential vitamins and minerals like iron, vitamin C, D, A...Basically the entire alphabet.  Eating a diet based on natural ingredients, plants to be specific, can actually lower your risk of diabetes, heart disease, obesity, colon and breast cancer, high blood pressure and digestive disorders.  Additionally, this kind of healthy eating helps people to lose weight and it also lowers cholesterol.

 

Pros and Cons:

 

            The benefits of a plant based diet are almost too numerous to count.  In short, eating this kind of diet can extend your lifespan and prevent a whole slew of negative health effects. 

The cons of a plant based diet are pretty minimal, However there is the risk for health problems to arise if you don’t take into account all of the nutrients that your body needs. This kind of diet means cutting out ALL meat and animal by products. So say goodbye to eggs, milk, Ice cream, cheese and yogurt. This is not an easy feat if you are somebody who has taken a liking to these in the past.  A good rule of thumb is that for every item you cut from your diet, you should replace it with an alternative.

 

 

Alternatives to Meat and Dairy Products:

 

            Things like beans, tofu, salad, and alfalfa sprouts are all a good way to get the vitamins and minerals that your body needs to look and feel at its best.  Other alternatives include Soy based products, hemp products, coconut, almond products and rice. If it is difficult to consume all of the nutrients necessary to be healthy, you may want to consider taking nutrient supplements.

             Although meats and other sources of dairy are delicious, they are bad for your body in the long run. With this in mind, a plant based diet is a really good way to enhance your physical health and prevent illness and diseases from invading your body.  With so many meat and dairy alternatives on the market these days, it is a relatively easy diet to stick to, providing you have the self control to stay on track with your eating habits.  Look around and see what’s out there as far as alternative options go, You are sure to find something that you like equally if not more than your usual foods.
