Yellowstone’s Old Faithful Shows Off a Snowy Eruption
[AMAZING]
Yellowstone National Park is the home of Old Faithful, a geyser that erupts at least 17 times per day. When Old Faithful erupts, it shoots out a stream of hot water an amazing 130 feet into the air. The water that comes out of the geyser is 204 degrees Fahrenheit. The eruptions last between 1.5 to 5 minutes in 60-110 minute intervals.
On December 18, 2016, park ranger Orville Bach witnessed Old Faithful erupt. But that day was different from its usual eruption; instead of the normal water, it looked as though Old Faithful was spewing out snow. This video shows the white fluff drifting up higher than the stream of water coming out of the geyser. That day, the air temperature reached 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and when the hot water from the geyser mixed with the cold air temperature, some of the water particles began to freeze. The result is a fluffy and snowy appearance as the water and snow began to shoot out. As a result, Yellowstone showed the world one of Old Faithful's most stunning eruptions on record!
