The city of Philadelphia is the largest and most populated city within the state of Pennsylvania. The city is full of American history, inducing monuments and museums dedicated to the country, such as the Liberty Bell, the Declaration of Independence, and the Philadelphia History Museum. The city of Philadelphia was the site of the country’s first newspaper, first library, first capital, first zoo, first stock exchange, first hospital, and even first medical and business schools. Philadelphia is also known for its famous Philly Cheesesteaks and for its amazing artwork and art museums. The city also has more outdoor sculptures and statues than any other city in the nation. The city’s current mayor is Michael A. Nutter, who serves as the 124th mayor of Philadelphia. The city has a population of over 1.5 million people, and rakes in a gross domestic product of about $388 billion. The city is a commonplace for tourism, with over 39 million people visiting Philadelphia each year, and about $10 billion brought in to the city yearly from outside visitors.
