CONNECT WITH Drexel University
Drexel University created the Drexel Green Initiative in 2008, to help transition the campus to be more sustainable, with the help of the students and faculty. The initiative includes several plans to incorporate better methods of recycling on campus, improve the energy use, reduce the amount of pollution and waste within the city, and work to educate students and those within the community about the environment and how to take better care of it. Drexel has always worked to preserve the environment and was one of the first universities to purchase wind power energy in 2002. The university also has a living Biowall, which is a natural air filter, coolant, and research tool within the school.
